Putting their training to an immediate use by constructing their own homes..

The  nomadic communities have been absorbing all the  adversities hurled upon them in a way they have been roughing it out. Their occupations have died down, they don’t have any decent means of earning, they have been greatly neglected by the society and the authorities, they have never been to school, haven’t been able to hone any relevant  skills that can help them make living. While the older generation is not willing to make that shift,  VSSM has taken upon training the current generation so as to equip them with contemporary skills. 

In January 2015 we enrolled 12 young men for the communities of Vadee, Vansfoda and Meer,  at a vocational  training centre run by 'Ambuja Foundation' and ‘Sadvichar Parivar’ in Uvarsad. VSSM had to be a hard task master here as the parents weren’t prepared to send their sons away. The trades they are learning are tailoring and masonry. The training will complete on 17th April. 5 men undergoing training are from Dhangadhra settlement where construction of homes is underway. These men are planning to take up construction of their own homes. And we couldn’t ask for anything more. 

The training expenses for these trainees has been borne by Ambuja Foundation while Sadvichar Parivar provided them the lodging and VSSM sponsored their food bill during the stay at the centre. 

We are determined to prepare the communities to enable them to earn dignified living, it challenging but we are committed to it…...

‘વાદી યુવાનો તાલીમ પછી પોતાનું ઘર જાતે બનાવવા ઈચ્છે છે..’

વિચરતા સમુદાય પોતાના પરંપરાગત વ્યવસાયના આધારે નભતા અને તે માટે વિચરણ કરતા પણ હવે એમનાં વ્યવસાય પડી ભાંગ્યા છે. નવા વ્યવસાયની આવડત નથી ને શિક્ષણ તો છે જ નહિ. વળી દરેક વ્યક્તિ પોતાની રીતે સ્વત્રંત વ્યવસાય કરી શકે એવું પણ નથી. જૂની પેઢી નવું શીખવા તૈયાર નથી. આવામાં નવી પેઢી કે જે મહેનત કરીને કમાવવા ઇચ્છતી હોય તેમને નવા વ્યવસાયની તાલીમ આપવાનું vssm કરે છે. 

‘અંબુજા ફાઉન્ડેશન’ અને ‘સદવિચાર પરિવાર’ના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે ઉવારસદ ગામમાં વોકેશનલ ટ્રેનીંગ સેન્ટર ચાલે છે એમાં વાદી, વાંસફોડા અને મીર સમુદાયના કુલ 12 યુવાનોએ કડીયાકામની અને સિલાઈની તાલીમ માટે પ્રવેશ મેળવ્યો. આમ તો આ તાલીમ માટે અમે રીતસર એમને ધમકાવ્યા એમ કહીએ તો ચાલે.. મૂળ મા – બાપની તૈયારી નહિ એટલે તાલીમ માટે કોઈ તૈયાર થાય નહિ. 

ઘણી મહેનત પછી 12 યુવાનોની તાલીમ જાન્યુઆરી -૨૦૧૫માં ગોઠવાઈ જે ૧૭ એપ્રિલના રોજ પૂરી થશે. તાલીમ લઇ રહેલા યુવાનોમાં પાંચ યુવાનો ધ્રાંગધ્રાના વાદી પરિવારમાંથી છે જેમના ઘરો બનાવવાનું કામ ચાલુ છે. આ યુવાનો તાલીમ પછી પોતાનું ઘર જાતે બનાવવા ઈચ્છે છે..

આ તમામ યુવાનોનો તાલીમ ખર્ચ અંબુજા ફાઉન્ડેશને ઉપાડ્યો તો રહેવાનો ખર્ચ સદવિચાર પરિવારે અને એમનો ભોજનખર્ચ vssm દ્વારા ચૂકવાયો.. દરેક વ્યક્તિને કામ મળે એ રીતે તૈયાર કરવાનો અમારો નિર્ધાર છે. આમ તો આ  સૌથી મુશ્કેલ કામ છે પણ કરવાનું છે એ નક્કી છે..
