VSSM's swavlamban program changed babubhai's life...

Mittal Patel meets Babubhai's life

"Like Arjun, fix your gaze—unyielding, true,

Let your arrow of effort pierce boldly through.

For those who toil with unwavering heart,

Even deserts yield streams, who do their part."

These words by poet Anant Kumar Shukla seem to come true in the story of Babubhai from Bhatvar village in Suigam taluka of Banaskantha.

Bhatvar is home to many families of traditional street performers ("Bajaniya"). These families collect hair entangled in combs in exchange for utensils like brassware. Babubhai also used to ride a bicycle carrying a small amount of goods and visit a couple of nearby villages to collect hair. He knew that if he could carry more items and replace the bicycle with a motorbike, he could increase his income. But all this was impossible without money. Still, he used to pray to God, saying, "If I get the money, I will never hold back from hard work."

Babubhai, living in barely subsistence conditions, met our volunteer, Bhagwanbhai, and shared his aspirations. Seeing his determination, we provided him with a loan of ₹30,000. With that, he bought cutlery in bulk and started bartering it for hair as well as selling it. His income increased. He saved up and bought a new motorbike. Now, he started traveling to four or five villages for business. Later, he took another loan from us and expanded further. With the increased income, he also bought a buffalo — now the family could consume milk and ghee, and sell some too.

Babubhai says, “I will never hold back from hard work, but I hoped someone would hold my hand. You held my hand, and in just four years, my life has changed.”

We have supported more than 12,000 families like Babubhai’s with loans. These families, in return, also contribute, whatever small or large donations they can, to the organization. After all, someone once helped them, and now they are becoming a part of bringing joy to others who are still in need.

Through our self-reliance programs run by KRSF and VSSM, our goal is to make 25,000 families self-reliant over the next five years.

અનંત કુમાર શુક્લના આ શબ્દો બનાસકાંઠાના સુઈગામ તાલુકાના ભાટવરના બાબુભાઈના કિસ્સામાં જાણે સાચ્ચા ઠર્યા. 

ભાટવરમાં બજાણિયા પરિવારોના ઘણા ઘર. આ બધા કટલરીના બદલામાં કાંસકામાં ઉતરી આવતા વાળ એકત્રિત કરવાનું કરે. બાબુભાઈ પણ સાયકલ પર થોડો સામાન લઈને આજુબાજુના બે ગામમાં ફરીને વાળ એકત્રિત કરવાનું કામ કરે. સામાનમાં વધારો થાય, સાયકલની જગ્યાએ બાઈક આવે તો આવકમાં ફાયદો થાય એવું બાબુભાઈ જાણે પણ આ બધુ પૈસા વગર અશક્ય. પણ પૈસા મળે તો મહેનતમાં પોતે પાછા નહીં પડે એવું એ હંમેશા ભગવાનને પ્રાર્થના કરે ત્યારે કહે. 

માંડ પેટ જોગુ નીકળે એ સ્થિતિમાં જીવતા બાબુભાઈને અમારા કાર્યકર ભગવાનભાઈ મળ્યા ને એમના મનની ભાવના કહી. એમની ધગશ જોઈ અમે 30,000 લોન પેટે આપ્યા. લોન મળતા એમણે હોલસેલમાં કટલરીનો સામાન લાવ્યા ને વાળના બદલામાં કટલરી આપવાની સાથે કટલરી વેચવાનું પણ શરૃ કર્યુ. આવક વધી. બચત કરી નવું બાઈક લીધુ. હવે ચાર, પાંચ ગામમાં ધંધા માટે ફરવાનું શરૃ થયું. અમારા પાસેથી બીજી લોન લીધી ને ધંધામાં વધારો કર્યો. આવક થઈ એમાંથી એમણે એક ભેંસ પણ લીધી જેથી ઘરમાં દૂધ, ઘી ખાઈ શકાય ને થોડુ દૂધ વેચી શકાય.

બાબુભાઈ કહે, "મહેનત કરવામાં પાછો નહીં પડુ પણ કોઈ હાથ પકડે એવું ચાહતો હતો. તમે હાથ પક્ડયોને મારી જીંદગી ચાર વર્ષમાં બદલાઈ ગઈ."

બાબુભાઈ જેવા 12000 થી વધારે પરિવારોને અમે લોન આપીને બેઠા કર્યા છે. આ બધા સંસ્થામાં પોતાનાથી થાય તે નાનુ મોટુ અનુદાન પણ આપે છે. આખર એમને કોઈએ સહયોગ કર્યો તો એ પણ અન્ય વંચિતોના સુખમાં સહયોગ આપી નિમિત્ત બની રહ્યા છે. 

KRSF અને VSSM થકી ચાલી રહેલા અમારા સ્વાવલંબન કાર્યક્રમ થકી આગામી પાંચ વર્ષમાં 25,000 પરિવારોને સ્વાવલંબી બનાવવાનો લક્ષાંક છે.

Many are walking according to the lines of their hands,

But instead of stars, they are the ones who are truly powerful – Sheikh Adam Abu Wala's words feel truly meaningful when we meet the families we have helped by providing loans to become self-reliant.

More than 1,000 families from the wandering, liberated, and marginalized communities living in Ahmedabad district have taken loans from us and are now running independent businesses. To help these community women organize and start businesses, we also established savings groups. Today, many such savings groups are functioning. We have received help from the Jewelex family and Fine Jewellery for organizing separate activities with the women, for which we are grateful.

After giving loans to those families, we organized a program to honor those borrowers who have made impressive progress after forming savings groups. This program was organized under the guidance of VSSM, KRSF, and the Vimut Foundation in collaboration with the Sadvichar Family in Ahmedabad.

In the event, our Bhikhibhen and Gauribhen, who formed savings groups of ten women each, were honored. Through these savings groups, the women save 100 rupees every month. Bhikhibhen’s group even received a revolving fund of 5 lakh rupees under the Government’s Mission Mangal Scheme.

Bhikhibhen, who once sold cutlery in the market, took a loan from us and expanded her business. Now, she also runs a stall and earns a good income. Her two daughters stayed in our hostel and studied. One of them, Neha, is currently pursuing nursing, while Payal has completed her graduation and works in a company.

Many loan recipients, like Bhikhibhen, shared how their businesses, started with loans, have flourished.

Those borrowers who developed their business the best, even when faced with family hardships and a downturn in their business, but still continued to pay their loan installments, were honored by the respected Pratulbhai Shroff, the founder of the Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation.

The event also honored our worker Madhubhen, who has been dedicated to the organization’s service activities for many years. The program was a great success, thanks to the strong team of sincere workers such as Madhubhen, Rahul, Nisha, Dinesh, Sachin, Usha, Vishwesh, Kirtan, Vishal, Darshan, and others. It is because of their tireless efforts that through KRSF and VSSM, over 11,000 families across Gujarat, who aspired to run their own businesses, have been given loans. Today, all these families have become self-reliant.

હાથની રેખા પ્રમાણે ચાલનારા છે ઘણા,

ચાલ તારાઓની બદલે એ જ શક્તિમાન - શેખાદમ આબૂવાલાની આ વાત અમે જે પરિવારોને સ્વાવલંબી બનાવવા લોન આપી મદદ કરીએ એ પરિવારોને મળીએ ત્યારે ખરી લાગે.

અમદાવાદ જિલ્લામાં રહેતા વિચરતા વિમુક્ત તેમજ તકવંચિત સમુદાયોમાંના 1000 થી વધારે પરિવારોએ અમારી પાસેથી લોન લીધી અને સ્વતંત્ર વ્યવસાય કરતા થયા. આ સમુદાયની બહેનો સંગઠિત થઈને ધંધો કરતી થાય તે માટે અમે બચતમંડળ પણ બનાવીએ. આજે એવા અનેક બચતમંડળો પણ કાર્યરત છે. બહેનો સાથે અલાયદી પ્રવૃતિ કરવા માટે અમને જ્વેલક્ષે પરિવાર તેમજ ફાઈન જ્વેલરીની મદદ મળી છે. તેમના અમે આભારી છીએ. 

અમે જેમને લોન આપી છે તે લોનધારકોમાંથી તેમજ બચતમંડળ બનાવ્યા પછી ઊડીને આંખે વળગે તેવી પ્રગતિ જેમણે કરી છે તેવા લોનધારકોના સન્માનનો કાર્યક્રમ VSSM, KRSF અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશનની નિશ્રામાં સદવિચાર પરિવાર- અમદાવાદમાં આયોજીત થયો.

કાર્યક્રમમાં અમારા ભીખીબહેન અને ગૌરીબહેને દસ દસ બહેનોના બચત મંડળ બનાવ્યા તેમના સન્માન થયા. આ બહેનોના બચતમંડળ થકી બહેનો નિયમીત દર મહિને બસો રૃપિયાની બચત કરે છે. ભીખીબહેનના મંડળને તો સરકારની મીશન મંગલ યોજના અંતર્ગત 5 લાખ રૃપિયા રીવોલ્વીંગ ફંડ પેટે પણ મળ્યા.

શાકમાર્કેટમાં પથારો પાથરી કટલરી વેચતા ભીખીબહેને અમારી પાસેથી લોન લઈને ઘંઘો મોટો કર્યો. હવે તેઓ લારી પણ ધંધો કરે ને ઘણું કમાય છે. એમની બે દિકરીઓ અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં રહીને ભણી. જેમાંની નેહા અત્યારે નર્સીગ ભણે છે. જ્યારે પાયલ સ્નાતક થઈ એક કંપનીમાં કામ કરે છે. 

ભીખીબહેન જેવા અનેક લોન ધારકોએ લોન લઈને શરૃ કરેલા ધંધામાં કેવી બરકત થઈ છે તેની વાત કરી. 

ઉપસ્થિતિ લોન ધારકોમાંથી જેમણે સૌથી સારી રીતે પોતાનો ધંધો વિકસાવ્યો હોય. ઘરમાં મુશ્કેલી આવી, ધંધો સાવ બેસી ગયો છતાં નિયમીત લોનના હપ્તા ભર્યા હોય તેવા લોન ધારકોનું સન્માન ડો. કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનના સ્થાપક આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફના હસ્તે કરવામાં આવ્યું. 

કાર્યક્રમમાં અમારા કાર્યકર મધુબહેનનું પણ સન્માન કરવામાં આવ્યું. વર્ષોથી તેઓ પૂરી નિષ્ઠાથી સંસ્થા દ્વારા થતા સેવાકાર્યમાં તેઓ લાગ્યા રહ્યા છે. 

આ કાર્યક્રમને સફળ બનાવ્યો. મધુબહેન, રાહુલ, નિશા, દિનેશ, સચિન, ઉષા, વિશ્વેશ, કીર્તન, વિશાલ, દર્શને... સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકરોની આવી મજબૂત ટીમ અમારી સાથે છે એટલે જ KRSF અને VSSM થકી ગુજરાતભરમાંથી સ્વતંત્ર ધંધો કરવાની ખેવના રાખનાર 11,000 થી વધારે પરિવારોને લોન આપવામાં આવી છે. આ બધા આજે લોન લઈને બે પાંદડે થયા છે.

"I stand on my own two feet; I earn enough to support a respectable family life, and I do not have to endure feelings of helplessness." What immense pride a person must feel making such a statement! Additionally, how satisfying it is to empower someone to feel that pride!

Our friend Kesnathbhai lives in Tharad town, located in Banaskantha. The Nathwaadi community is traditionally known for snake charming, where they handle and perform with snakes. However, as this business has declined, some members of the community have resorted to begging to support themselves. Fortunately, VSSM provided support for Kesnathbhai many years ago. VSSM helped the family obtain Aadhaar cards (identity cards) for those living in Shivnagar, Tharad. Additionally, VSSM assisted in acquiring a plot of land, where a house was built for the family.

Kesnathbhai started several types of businesses, beginning with coal-making after taking a loan from our organization. He is very loyal, and his sincere faith in the organization is unwavering. These qualities have enabled him to progress remarkably well. Today, he owns four plots of land, several cars, and a house in Tharad. However, he has not forgotten his gratitude to the organization. He often expresses it with a simple statement: "When I had nothing, the organization held my hand, and because of that support, I have come this far today."

We did not anticipate such significant progress. We organized a discussion with individuals who received loans from the organization to help them become self-sufficient. We talked about what could be done under the self-help program and what additional support could be provided in the future. During this meeting, many participants, including Kesnathbhai, shared their success stories and how they benefited from the loans provided by the institute. We ourselves were truly amazed by the impact of our mission.

The K.R. Shroff Foundation and the "VIMUKT" Foundation have partnered with the VSSM self-help program. Through the collaborative efforts of these three organizations, over 11,000 families have received loans to start their own businesses, and the majority of them have reported high levels of satisfaction.

During the meeting, we honored several individuals: those who took out loans from the organization and went on to have very successful careers, those who faced significant family challenges yet consistently made their loan payments, and those who, as community leaders, helped others achieve economic stability.

There was a suggestion to create a women's congregation. It was discussed that a significant amount of work is needed to support women in establishing their own independent businesses. 

It is commendable that all loan holders contribute to us with monthly donations. Their charitable contributions to the institute are just as important and great as those made by donors of substantial amounts. 

During the program, everyone talked about the idea of forming their own banks, which would allow them to secure small or large loans as needed.

The self-help program is currently being implemented by the respected Shri Pratulbhai Shroff and several well-wishers associated with the organization. It brings us great joy to provide livelihoods to many individuals through this initiative. 

We hope that God continues to make us instruments for the maximum good of the greatest number of people.

હું મારા પગ પર ઉભો છું, હું મારા પરિવારને માનભેર જીવાડી શકુ એટલું કમાવુ છું, મારે કોઈની ઓશિયાળી વેઠવાની થતી નથી.. આવા વિધાન બોલતા માણસને કેવો ગર્વ થાય. વળી આવો ગર્વ અપાવવાનું કામ કરવું એ તો કેટલું મજાનું.

અમારા કેશનાથભાઈ બનાસકાંઠાના થરાદમાં રહે. નાથવાદી સમુદાયનો પરંપરાગત ધંધો સાપના ખેલ બતાવવાનો. પણ એ પડી ભાંગ્યો પછી સમુદાયમાંથી કેટલાક ભીક્ષા માંગી પેટિયું રળવા માંડ્યા. પણ કેશનાથભાઈના ટેકામાં VSSM વર્ષો પહેલા આવ્યું. થરાદના શિવનગરમાં રહેતા પરિવારના ઓળખના આધારો, રહેવા પ્લોટ ને પછી તો ઘર પણ બન્યા. 

કેશનાથભાઈ અમારી પાસેથી લોન લઈને કોલસા પાડવાથી લઈને અનેક પ્રકારના વ્યવસાય શરૃ કર્યા. નિષ્ઠાવાન અને સંસ્થા માટે એમની શ્રદ્ધા ગજબ એટલે પ્રગતિ પણ ખુબ સારી થઈ. આજે એમની પાસે થરાદમાં રહેણાંક અર્થે ચાર પ્લોટ, ગાડી, ઘર બધુ જ છે. પણ એ સંસ્થાનું ઋણ નથી ભૂલ્યા. એ એક જ વાક્યમાં પોતાની વાત કરે, જ્યારે મારી પાસે કશું નહોતું ત્યારે સંસ્થાએ મારો હાથ પકડ્યો ને આજે હું આટલે પહોંચી શક્યો.

એમની આટલી પ્રગતિનો અંદાજ નહોતો પણ અમે થરાદમાં સંસ્થાએ જેમને બે પાંદડે થવા લોન આપી છે એ લોકોની એક બેઠક ભવિષ્યમાં સ્વાવલંબન કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત શું કરી શકાય અને ક્યા પ્રકારની વધારે મદદની જરૃર છે એ અંગે વાત કરવા એક ચર્ચા સભાનું આયોજન કર્યું. આ સભામાં કેશનાથભાઈ જેવા અનેક વ્યક્તિઓએ સંસ્થામાંથી મળેલી લોનથી કેવી પ્રગતિ કરી એની વાત કરી ત્યારે આ કાર્ય માટે અમને પોતાને હરખ થયો. 

VSSM ના સ્વાવલંબન કાર્યક્રમમાં આજે ડો. કે.આર.ફાઉન્ડેશન અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશન પણ જોડાયું છે. ત્રણે સંસ્થાના પ્રયાસથી 11,000થી વધારે પરિવારોને સ્વતંત્ર ધંધો કરવા લોન મળી છે ને એમાંના ઘણા ખરા ખુબ સુખી થયા છે. 

સંસ્થાએ જે પરિવારોને લોન આપી તેમાંથી લોન લઈને જે વ્યક્તિઓએ ખુબ સારી તરક્કી કરી હોય, 

 જેમને લોન લીધી પણ પછી ઘરમાં ભયંકર તકલીફ આવી હોય છતાં લોનના હપ્તા નિયમીત ભર્યા હોય, જેઓ આગેવાનની ભૂમિકામાં હોય ને પોતાની સાથે સાથે અન્ય વ્યક્તિઓને પણ બે પાંદડે થવા મદદ કરી હોય તે સૌનું સન્માન પણ કાર્યક્રમમાં થયું.

આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ અને સંસ્થા સાથે સંકળાયેલા અનેક સ્વજનો મારફત આ સ્વાવલંબન કાર્યક્રમ ચાલી રહ્યો છે. આ કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત અનેકોને રોજી આપી શક્યાનો આનંદ પણ છે..

વાશી ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી શ્વેતા ડોડેજા અને ગીરીશ સાઈવે આ કાર્યમાં સહભાગી બન્યા એ માટે આભારી છું.

Mittal Patel visits Bhaveshbhai's Shop

"Didiji, some people are born with such luck. In their life, they never face the struggles we went through. I had to study, but our financial situation was weak, so at night, we would do wheat farming and work till morning. After sleeping for two hours in the morning, I would go to school. I studied while doing such labor... But I see so many people, and I wonder how blessed they are with happiness.

Our Darshan sometimes says, "He studied in our hostel. He worked really hard. Today, he earns well. But the struggles he faced are nothing compared to many others."

Bhaveshbhai, who lives in Babarmeli, Amreli, also worked in a brick kiln as a child and went to school. But after working hard in the kiln, studying became impossible. He would get so tired. He started a small shop selling golis and biscuits in front of his house while studying in 8th grade. He ran the shop from 8 to 10 in the morning and 5 to 8 in the evening, spending the rest of the time in school. From the profits from the shop, he covered his expenses and contributed a small amount to his family.

He studied until 12th grade this way. He couldn’t continue further education, but he increased the stock in his shop and the business grew. After that, he got married and had children.

He wanted to buy a fridge for his shop. Having a fridge would increase the profits. But he didn’t have enough money to buy it at once. Our worker Rameshbhai gave him a loan, and the fridge was brought to Bhaveshbhai’s shop. After the fridge was brought, his income increased. When asked how his income increased, he said, "Now we keep milk, curd, buttermilk, cold drinks, and ice cream. The demand for these products increased, so my income grew."

After listening to him, I said, "You are happy, and we are happy too," laughing. He replied, "Sister, the greatest happiness now is that my wife never has to go out for work. If I have to work outside, she takes care of the shop."

KRSF and VSSM have provided loans to over 10,000 families with the intention of encouraging independent businesses. When people like Bhaveshbhai talk about their success, it feels like our self-reliance program is making a difference."

This is a narrative about struggles, hard work, and success, highlighting how programs like KRSF and VSSM help people establish their businesses and improve their lives.

દીદી કેટલાક લોકો કેવા નસીબ લઈને જન્મે? એમના જીવનમાં અમે વેઠ્યો એવો સંઘર્ષ જરાય નહીં. મારે ભણવું હતું પણ ઘરની સ્થિતિ નબળી તે રાતે ઘઉં વાઢવાના કામો ઉચક રાખતા ને સવાર સુધી એ કરીએ. સવારે બે કલાક ઊંઘી પાછા નિશાળે. આવી મજૂરી કરીને ભણ્યો..પણ હું કેટલા બધાને જોવું છું ભગવાને એમને કેવું સુખ આપ્યું છે..."

અમારો દર્શન આવું ક્યારેક કહી દે.. અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં જ એ ભણ્યો. ખૂબ મહેનત કરી. આજે એ સરસ કમાય. પણ દર્શન જેવો સંઘર્ષ અનેકોનો.

અમરેલીના બાબરમાં રહેતા ભાવેશભાઈ પણ નાનપણમાં ઈંટોના ભઠ્ઠામાં કામે જાય સાથે નિશાળમાં પણ..

પણ ભઠ્ઠામાં કાળી મજૂરી પછી ભણવાનું ન થાય. થાકી જવાય. એમણે ગોળી, બિસ્કીટની નાની દુકાન ઘર આગળ ધો.8માં ભણતા ત્યારથી શરૃ કરી. સવારે 8 થી 10 અને સાંજે 5થી 8 દુકાન ચલાવે ને બાકીનો સમય નિશાળમાં. દુકાનમાં મળતા નફામાંથી એ પોતાનો ખર્ચ ઉપાડતા ને નાનકડી રકમ ઘરમાં આપતા.

આ રીતે ધો. 12 સુધી ભણ્યા. આગળ ભણવાનું ન થયું એમણે દુકાનમાં સામાન થોડો વધાર્યો ને ધંધો આગળ ચાલ્યો. એ પછી તો લગ્ન ને બાળકો પણ થયા. 

દુકાનમાં એમને ફ્રીજ લાવવું હતું. ફ્રીજ આવે તો દુકાનમાં નફો વધી શકે. પણ એક સાથે ફ્રીજ લાવવા પૈસા નહીં. અમારા કાર્યકર રમેશભાઈએ લોન આપી ને ભાવેશભાઈની દુકાનમાં ફ્રીજ આવ્યું. 

ફ્રીજ આવતા એમની આવક વધી. કેમ આવક વધી એના જવાબમાં એમણે કહ્યું, "દૂધ, દહીં, છાશ, ઠંડા પીણાં, આઈસ્ક્રીમ હવે રાખીએ. એની ખરીદી વધારે થાય એટલે આવક વધી."

એમની વાત સાંભળી તમે સુખી તો અમે સુખી એમ હસીને કહ્યું તો કહે, "બેન મોટુ સુખ તો હવે ઘરવાળીને ક્યાંય કામે જવું નથી પડતું એનું. હું બહાર કામ હોય તો જવું તો મારી ઘરવાળી ને મા દુકાન સંભાળી લે.."

KRSF અને VSSMએ સ્વતંત્ર ધંધાની ખેવના રાખનાર 10,000 થી વધારે પરિવારોને લોન આપી પગભર કર્યા છે. ભાવેશભાઈ જેવા વ્યક્તિઓ જ્યારે પોતાની સફળતાની વાત કરે ત્યારે અમારો સ્વાવલંબન કાર્યક્રમ લેખે લાગ્યો હોય એમ લાગે..

"The diamond business has been in decline for many years, and the pandemic added insult to injury. We have no land to cultivate, so we needed to find a way to make a living. I didn't know what to do at first, but one day I decided to open a small shop in front of my house. With little money we had, we bought cement, stones, and bricks to build walls, and covered the shop with tin plates. I filled it up with biscuits and packaged foods. Eventually, I began earning enough to put food on the table, but that was about it—I couldn’t progress any further than that."

Bharatbhai, who lived in Baabar, Amreli, found himself in a situation reminiscent of the lyrics of "Shekhadam Abuwala." His shop was operating as expected, but he believed it could perform better. He thought that by adding more items to his inventory and purchasing a freezer, he could boost his business.

Bharatbhai approached our volunteer, Rameshbhai, to request a loan for a refrigerator, which we granted. He began using the fridge to store milk, curd, buttermilk, and cold drinks. As a result, his business income increased. 

When we met Bharatbhai, he expressed a desire to expand his business further. With a little support, his dreams have grown. We are very pleased to see his progress!

"હીરામાં ઘણા ટેમથી મંદી હાલે, કોરોનાએ પાસુ પડતામાં પાટુ માઈર્યું. અમારી પાહે ખેતી બેતી કાંઈ નો જડે. પેટિયું રળવા કાંક તો કરવું જોવે. હમજાતું નોતું હું કરુ? એક દિ વિચાર આયવો ઘર આગળ નાનકડી દુકાન કરવાનો. થોડા ઘણા પૈસા હતા તે એમાંથી પાણા ને સીમેન્ટ લાવી દુકાન ચણી પતરાથી ઢાંકી દીધી. બે હજારનો સામાન (પડીકા ને બિસ્કીટ) દુકાનમાં ભરાઈવો. રોટલા જોગુ આમાંથી મળવા માંઈડ્યું. હાશ થઈ પણ આટલાથી કાંઈ આગળ નો વધાય."

ચાલ તારાઓની બદલે એ જ શક્તિમાન છે - શેખાદમ આબુવાલાના આ વાક્ય જેવું જ થયું કાંઈ અમરેલીના બાબરમાં રહેતા ભરતભાઈના કિસ્સામાં થયું. એમની દુકાન એમના કહ્યા પ્રમાણ ચાલતી પણ ઝાઝુ મળતર નહોતું. દુકાનમાં સામાનનો ઉમેરો અથવા ફ્રીઝ લેવાય તો ધંધો વધે એવી એમની લાગણી.

આમારા કાર્યકર રમેશભાઈને ભરતભાઈએ ફ્રીઝ માટે લોન આપવા કહ્યું ને અમે લોન આપી.

If we try to find a solution to a problem that seems difficult, the solution will certainly be found. The question is whether we are ready to approach the solution in the way we’ve found it.

Kanchanben lives in the village of Dabhana in the field. Her husband works in a company, and when Kanchanben gets work, she does field labor. However, field labor is not available year-round, and it becomes difficult to manage the household with her husband's earnings. She didn’t know what to do.

The government introduced sewing classes in the village. Kanchanben learned sewing. However, the issue was the sewing machine. She didn’t have enough savings to buy a machine.

Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation provides loans to families of underprivileged and nomadic communities through VSSM. Kanchanben knew about this. She contacted Rajnibhai, a worker from the organization. She requested a loan of 50,000 to buy a sewing machine along with fabric to sew and sell ready-made dresses, blouses, etc.

Kanchanben’s eyes showed determination and the zeal to work hard. People like her definitely deserve loans. A loan was granted, and today she earns five to seven thousand a month. From her earnings, she saves money and dreams of opening a larger shop.

She also wishes to convince her husband to leave his job, buy an auto-rickshaw, and start an independent business.

When Kanchanben met the respected Pratulbhai Shroff, he became emotional. He said, “I am very happy now. VSSM and KRSF together have helped 9,400 families become independent in business. We are pleased to bring happiness into the lives of the underprivileged."

અઘરામાં અઘરી લાગતી સમસ્યાનું સમાધાન શોધવા કોશીશ કરીએ તો સમાધાન મળે જ. મુદ્દો આપણે સમાધાન શોધી તે પ્રમાણે કરવા તૈયાર છીએ કે કેમ તે...

ખેડાના ડભાણ ગામમાં કંચનબેન રહે. પતિ કંપનીમાં નોકરીએ જાય ને કંચનબેન ખતમજૂરી મળે તો એ કરે. પણ ખેતમજૂરી બારે મહિના મળે નહીં ને પતિની કમાણી પર ઘર ચલાવવામાં તકલીફ પડે. શું કરવું એ સમજાતું નહોતું.

ગામમાં સિવણના વર્ગો સરકારે શરૃ કરાવ્યા. કંચનબેન સિવણ શીખ્યા. પણ મુદ્દો મશીનનો હતો. બચત એટલી હતી નહીં કે એ મશીન ખરીદી શકે.

 ડો. કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન તકવંચિત અને  વિચરતી જાતિઓના પરિવારોને VSSM ના માધ્યમથી લોન આપી ધંધો કરતા કરે એ કંચનબેન જાણે. એમણે સંસ્થાના કાર્યકર રજનીભાઈનો સંપર્ક કરી. સિલાઈ મશીનની સાથે સાથે કપડુ ખરીદી તૈયાર ડ્રેસ,બ્લાઉઝ વગેરે સીવી વેચવા 50,000 લોનની માંગણી કરી.

નિષ્ઠા અને મહેનત કરવાની ધગશ કંચનબેનની આંખોમાં દેખાતી હતી. આવા વ્યક્તિઓને લોન આપવાનું તો કરવું જ પડે. લોન આપી ને આજે હવે એ મહિને પાંચ સાત હજાર કમાતા થઈ ગયા. એમની કમાણીમાંથી એ બચત કરે ને મોટી દુકાન નાખવાનું એ સ્વપ્ન સેવે. 

એમના પતિને પણ નોકરી છોડાવી રીક્ષા લઈ એ સ્વતંત્ર ધંધો કરતા થાય એવી એમની ઈચ્છા છે.

આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફને જ્યારે કંચનબહેન મળ્યા ત્યારે એ ભાવુક થયા. એમણે કહ્યું, મને અત્યાર ઘણું સુખ છે. VSSM અને KRSF એ મળીને અત્યાર સુધી 9400 પરિવારોને સ્વતંત્ર ધંધો કરતા કર્યા. તક વંચિતોના જીવનમાં સુખ આપી શક્યાનો અમને રાજીપો..

To build a better society, it is very important for everyone to come together and support each other. Instead of pulling each other down, if we pull each other up, the marginalized people in society will automatically rise.

Pratulbhai Shroff, the founder of KRSF, personally believed in this idea and decided to do what he could to solve various social issues.

KRSF has contributed significantly in the field of education, but now it is also helping those who wish to become self-reliant through the VSSM platform. Together, both organizations have helped more than 9,400 families become financially stable through loans.

Pratulbhai went to the village of Dabhana to understand what kind of businesses people were running by taking loans from the organization. There, he met Prakashbhai, who drove a rickshaw. He had an old rickshaw and did not have enough money to buy a new one, so he bought a heavily worn-out rickshaw with a small amount of capital. However, it was very costly to maintain, and he was just able to earn enough to get by.

Prakashbhai, who was associated with VSSM, spoke to the worker Rajnibhai about the loan, and he was given a loan from KRSF. He used that loan to make a down payment and took the remaining amount as a loan from a finance company to buy a new rickshaw.

Now, Prakashbhai is at peace. He regularly pays both the organization and the finance company's installments.

Prakashbhai shared his journey from the old rickshaw to the new one with Pratulbhai. When Pratulbhai asked him about his dream, Prakashbhai said, "Once I pay off the current loan, I plan to buy another new rickshaw. If I rent it out, I can earn 9,000 to 10,000 rupees a month. My son will become a wage earner."

Listening to this, we were all filled with joy. A person gets exhausted from struggles, and before they lose hope, if we support them, they find the strength to move forward. This is the kind of encouragement that KRSF provided. This is the result... 

ઉત્તમ સમાજ નિર્માણ માટે સૌ એકબીજા સાથે આવે, મદદરૃપ થાય તે ખુબ જરૂરી. પગ ખેંચવા કરતા હાથ ખેંચીએ તો સમાજમાં રહેતા વંચિતો આપોઆપ ઉપર આવી જાય.

વ્યક્તિ રીતે આવું માનનાર KRSF ના સ્થાપક અમારા પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફે વિવિધ સામાજિક સમસ્યાઓના નિવારણ માટે પોતાનાથી બનતું કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

શિક્ષણ ક્ષેત્રે તો KRSF ઘણું કરે પણ હવે સ્વાવલંબી બનવાની ખેવના રાખનારને VSSM ના માધ્યમથી મદદ કરે. બેય સંસ્થાએ સાથે રહીને 9400 થી વધારે પરિવારોને આર્થિક રીતે સદ્ધર થવા લોન રૃપે મદદ કરી.

ખેડાના ડભાણમાં પ્રતુલભાઈ સંસ્થામાંથી લોન લઈને લોકો કેવા કેવા વ્યવસાય કરે છે તે સમજવા ગયા. ત્યાં પ્રકાશભાઈ મળ્યા. જેઓ રીક્ષા ચલાવે. એમની પાસે પહેલા જુની રીક્ષા હતી. નવી ખરીદવા પૈસા નહીં એટલે નાનકડી મૂડી માંથી એકદમ ખખડધજ રીક્ષા ખરીદી. પણ એમાં ખર્ચ ઘણો આવે. માંડ ખાવા જોગુ નીકળે. 

VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા પ્રકાશભાઈએ કાર્યકર રજનીભાઈને લોન માટે વાત કરીને KRSF માંથી એમને લોન મળી. એમાંથી એમણે ડાઉન પેમેન્ટ ભર્યું ને બાકીની રકમ ફાયનાન્સ કંપની માંથી લોન પેટે લીધી ને એમણે નવી રીક્ષા લીધી.

હવે પ્રકાશભાઈને નિરાંત છે. સંસ્થા તેમજ ફાયનાન્સ કંપની બેયના હપ્તા તેઓ નિયમીત ભરે. 

પ્રકાશભાઈએ પ્રતુલભાઈને પોતાના જુની રીક્ષામાંથી નવી રીક્ષા સુધી પહોંચ્યાના સંઘર્ષની વાત કરી. જ્યારે સ્વપ્ન શું છે તેવું પ્રતુલભાઈએ પુછ્યું તો એમણે કહ્યું, 'હાલની લોન પતાવી એક નવી રીક્ષા લાવવાની. એ રીક્ષા ભાડે આપી દઉ તો મહિને 9 થી 10 હજારની કમાણી થાય. એક કમાઉ દીકરો થઈ જાય.'

સાંભળીને અમે સૌ હરખાયા. માણસ તકલીફોથી થાકી જાય એ પહેલા એનો ટેકો કરી દઈએ તો એને હિંમત મળી જાય. બસ આ હિંમત આપવાનું કામ KRSF કર્યું. એનો રાજીપો...

When we talk about successful women, the question arises as to why we don’t mention thousands of women like Daniben.

When sisters began to try their hands at driving four-wheelers, everyone was surprised to hear that a sister drives a car. But women like Daniben pedal fiercely with bare feet and return from the three sectors of Gandhinagar having sold more vegetables than Ramabhai at home. This serves as inspiration for many unsuccessful individuals.

Managing all the household chores, she brings vegetables from the market and sells them in various societies across the three sectors. When she returns home, she checks with the boys whether they’ve done their homework; if they say no, Daniben makes them sit down to study.

Countless Danibens across the country and the world are true examples of women’s empowerment. Unfortunately, when discussions about women’s empowerment occur, women like Daniben are often not present. Or if they are present, they are overshadowed by educated and well-groomed women who discuss how women like Daniben lag behind and how to empower them.

Isn’t it interesting?

In my view, a sister who milks ten cows or a Daniben who runs a vegetable or dairy business should also understand what true women’s empowerment means.

Daniben took a loan from us to expand her business, and when I visited her in Gandhinagar, seeing her skillfully pedal and load her vegetables was truly heartwarming. It made my heart swell with joy.

સફળ સ્ત્રીઓની વાત જ્યારે થાય ત્યારે દાણીબેન જેવી હજારો સ્ત્રીઓની વાત કેમ નહીં થતી હોય એ પ્રશ્ન સતત થાય.

ફોર વ્હીલર પર હાથ અજમાવવાનું બહેનોએ શરૃ કર્યું ત્યારે બહેન ગાડી ચલાવે છે એ વાતની સૌને ભારે નવાઈ લાગતી. પણ દાણીબહેન જેવી બહેનો ઉઘાડા પગે પણ જબ્બર રીતે પેડલ ચલાવે ને ગાંધીનગરના ત્રણ સેક્ટરમાં ફરીને ઘરવાળા રમણભાઈ કરતા વધારે શાકભાજી વેચી આવે એની વાત તો અનેક નિષ્ફળ વ્યક્તિઓને પ્રેરણા આપનારી...

ઘરનું તમામ કામકાજ પતાવી માર્કેટમાંથી શાકભાજી લાવી ત્રણેક સેક્ટરની કેટલીયે સોસાયટીમાં ફરીને એ વેચી આવે ને પાછા ઘરે આવીને નિરીક્ષર દાણીબેન એય છોકરાઓ લેશન બેશન કર્યું કે નઈ એવું પુછી લે ને છોકરા ના પાડે તો દાણી બેન પાછા એમને ભણવાય બેસાડે...

દેશની - દુનિયાની અસંખ્ય દાણીબેન સ્ત્રી સશક્તિકરણનું સાચુ ઉ.દા. પણ કમનસીબે જ્યાં સ્ત્રી સશક્તિકરણની વાતો થાય ત્યાં દાણીબેન જેવી બહેનો હાજર નથી હોતી. અથવા હાજર હોય તો ભણેલી ગણેલી લાલી લિપસ્ટિક થી સજ્જ બહેનો દાણીબેન જેવી બહેનો અન્ય સ્ત્રીઓ કરતા કેવી રીતે પાછળ છે. એમનું સશક્તિકરણ કેમ કરવું એની ચર્ચા કરે...

મજાનું છે નહીં?

મારા ખ્યાલથી દસ ગાય ભેંસો દોહીને એનું દૂધ ભરાવનાર બહેન કે દાણીબહેન જેવી શકભાજી કે પાલાબૈણીનો વેપાર કરનાર બહેન પાસે પણ ક્યારેક સાચુ સ્ત્રી સશક્તિકરણ કોને કહેવાય એ સમજવું જોઈએ..

આ દાણીબેને ધંધો વધારવા અમારી પાસેથી લોન લીધેલી એટલે ગાંધીનગરના એમના છાપરે એમને મળવા ગઈ ને એમણે જે રીતે પેડલ ચલાવી શાકભાજી લેવી હોયતોની બૂમ પાડી સાંભળીને આપણું દિલ તો ભઈ'સાબ ગાર્ડન ગાર્ડન થઈ ગયું..

We are the record-keepers, Barots, of the Rajasthani Rabari community, maintaining their genealogies. We followed the Rabari community for generations. However, droughts frequently occur in Rajasthan, creating employment issues. Therefore, we migrated to Gujarat and took up labor work. Now, we visit our native Doha in Rajasthan every two to five years to update the genealogies.

Whenever any of our people visit, the Rabari community honors us greatly. They provide us with a bed, and we read their genealogies from our records, write about the new generation, and receive the gifts we request." This was shared by young Sabir and Daliya Bhai.

The Mir Barot families have been living in huts in Patan for years, with a single wish for a permanent home. However, these wandering families are not listed in the nomadic tribes' list. Therefore, they are not allocated plots for residence. Despite living in huts, these families are not included in the BPL (Below Poverty Line) list and thus do not receive assistance under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme.

Sabir Bhai brought the records written by his father to us. Only his father could read the language written in those records. None of us could decipher the words.

Sabir Bhai and Daliya Bhai decorate vehicles and make ve hicle ornaments. They bring small amounts of materials and run their business. However, their earnings barely cover their basic needs. As they said, it's hard to make ends meet.

We helped these families get their Aadhar cards, voter IDs, and ration cards. During this time, our Patan activist, Mohan Bhai, thought of providing a loan to these two brothers to help them get a plot. He initially gave each brother a loan of thirty thousand rupees. The brothers used the money wisely.

After repaying one loan, they took another and then another, gradually expanding their business. Now, they have their equipment and have started saving in the bank. Instead of buying ready-made materials, they now purchase raw materials and prepare the decorations at home.

Both brothers have a strong desire to have a permanent house of their own. We are pleased to be able to help such hardworking families.

KRSF and VSSM are jointly advancing the self-reliance program. So far, more than 8,200 families have been provided with loans to start their own businesses. This number continues to grow day by day.

The honorable Pratul Bhai Shroff's dream is to enable 25,000 families to run their businesses this way in the next five years. We wish for everyone's happiness and prosperity.

'અમે રાજસ્થાની રબારી સમાજના વહીવંચા બારોટ એમની વંશાવળી(પેઢીનામુ) લખવાનું કામ કરનારા. રબારી સમાજની પાછળ પાછળ અમે પેઢીઓ ફર્યા. પણ રાજસ્થાનમાં દુકાળ ત્યાં ઘણો પડે ને રોજગારના પ્રશ્નો ઊભા થાય. એટલે અમે ગુજરાતમાં ઊતરી આવ્યા. અહીંયા આવીને મજુરીયે વળગ્યા. હાલ અમારા ડોહા રાજસ્થાનમાં બે પાંચ વર્ષે જાય ને વંશાવળી લખે.

અમારા કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ ત્યાં જાય તો રબારી સમાજ અમને ખુબ સન્માન આપે. ખાટલો આપે. અમે ચોપડો ખોલીને એમની પેઢી વાંચીયે, નવી પેઢી વિષે લખીયે પછી અમે જે ભેટ સોગાદ માંગીયે એ આપે..'

યુવાન સબીર અને દલિયાભાઈએ આ કહ્યું..

પાટણમાં છાપરાં બાંધી વર્ષોથી મીર બારોટ પરિવારો રહે. એમની એક જ ઝંખના પાક્કા ઘરની. પણ વિચરતુ જીવન જીવતા આ પરિવારોનો સમાવેશ વિચરતી જાતિની યાદીમાં નહીં. એટલે રહેવા માટે પ્લોટ ફાળવવામાં મેળ પડતો નથી. ને છાપરાંમાં રહેતા હોવા છતાં આ પરિવારો બીપીએલ યાદીમાં નથી આમ પ્રધાનમંત્રી આવાસ યોજના અંતર્ગત પણ એમને મદદ ન મળે.

ખેર સબીરભાઈ એમના પિતા જે ચોપડા લખતા તે લઈ અમારા પાસે આવ્યા. ચોપડામાં લખેલી ભાષા તો એમના બાપા જ વાંચી શકે. અમે કોઈ એ શબ્દો ન ઉકેલી ન શક્યા. 

સબીરભાઈ અને દલિયાભાઈ વાહનોને શણગારવાનું કામ કરે. વાહનોના નજરિયા પણ બનાવે.. થોડો થોડો સામાન લાવીને ધંધો કરે. પણ એમાં ખાવા પીવાનું નીકળે. એ લોકો કહે એમ બે પાંદડે ન થવાય.

આ પરિવારોના આધારકાર્ડ, મતદારકાર્ડ, રેશનકાર્ડ બને તે માટે અમે મદદ કરી. પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે પણ મથીયે એ વખતે આ બે ભાઈઓને લોન આપવાનો વિચાર અમારા પાટણના કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈને આવ્યો ને એમણે પ્રથમ બે ભાઈઓને ત્રીસ- ત્રીસ હજારની લોન આપી. જેમાંથી બે ભાઈઓએ સરસ વકરો કર્યો.

 "I want to become a Collector," said little Ananya. She doesn’t fully understand what a Collector is, but her father, Harshadbhai, has planted this dream in her.

When asked why he wants her to become a Collector, Harshadbhai, our borrower, replied, "I want to be an ideal father for my daughter. I want her to be able to say with pride that her father worked hard for her."

Harshadbhai is not very educated. He works in a private company, but his income from the job is not enough. So, he decided to open a small shop in front of his house. He had faith that his wife, Ramilaben, would manage the shop. But they didn’t have the money to stock the shop.

They live in Dabhan, Kheda. Our worker, Rajnibhai, also lives in Dabhan. Harshadbhai discussed his business plans with Rajnibhai, who knew about his lack of capital. Eventually, Rajnibhai recommended that they seek financial assistance from VSSM, KRSF. We provided them with a loan of ₹50,000, which they used to set up a nice shop.

Ramilaben manages the shop, and their income has improved significantly. Ramilaben says, "When both of us earn, it makes a difference."

Through VSSM, KRSF, and Vimukta Foundation, we have provided loans to over 8,000 families, helping them start their own businesses. We wish for Harshadbhai and Ramilaben to be happy and successful.

'મારે કલેક્ટર થવું છે.'

નાનકડી અનન્યાયે આ કહ્યું.. કલેક્ટર એટલે કોણ એવી એને ઝાઝી ખબર ન પડે પણ એના પપ્પાએ એનામાં આ સ્વપ્ન રોપ્યું.

કલેક્ટર કેમ બનાવવી છે? એના જવાબમાં અનન્યાના પપ્પા એટલે કે અમારા લોનધારક હર્ષદભાઈએ કહ્યું, 'મારે મારી દીકરી માટે આદર્શ પિતા બનવું છે. મોટી થઈને એ ગર્વ સાથે કહી શકે કે મારા પિતાએ મારા માટે ખુબ મહેનત કરી..'

હર્ષદભાઈ ભણ્યા ઓછુ. ખાનગી કંપનીમાં નોકરી કરે પણ નોકરીની આવકમાં પુરુ ન થાય. એમણે ઘર આગળ નાનકડી દુકાન નાખવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. દુકાન સંભાળવાનું એમના પત્ની રમીલાબેન કરી લેશે એવો વિશ્વાસ. પણ દુકાનમાં સામાન લાવવા પૈસા નહીં. 

ખેડાના ડભાણમાં એ રહે. અમારા કાર્યકર રજનીભાઈ પણ ડભાણમાં રહે. રજનીભાઈ સાથે ધંધો કરવાની વાતો પણ થાય. મૂડી નથી એ રજનીભાઈ જાણે. આખરે રજનીભાઈએ જ  VSSM, KRSFમાંથી તમને પૈસા આપવાની ભલામણ કરી. અમે એમને લોન પેટે 50,000 આપ્યા. જેમાંથી એમણે સરસ દુકાન કરી.. 

રમીલાબેન દુકાન સંભાળે. આવક પણ સારી થઈ રહી છે.. રમીલાબેન કહે, 'બે જણા કમાય તો ફરક તો પડે જ..'

VSSM, KRSF અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશન થકી 8000 થી વધારે પરિવારોને લોન આપી એમને સ્વતંત્ર ધંધો કરતા કર્યા છે...

I used to lift & arrange gunny bags in the godown. For each bag that I lifted & arranged, I used to get one rupee.

In my youth I could do this type of work. .Now I get tired though I am not very old. My body is now tired since I have been working from a very young age. I was staying in a temporary shed in Sector 13 of Gandhinagar. However all sheds were demolished. Everything was haywire. With my earnings of Rs200-Rs 250 per day it was not possible to have my own house.

Vershibhai narrated this sad story of his life  Sanjaybhai staying in Gandhinagar helps VSSM in its  various activities. He asked Vershibhai to become a vegetable vendor. Vershibhai thought about it and decided to rent a small farm at Uvarsad to plant vegetables. But he did not have the capital to pay a deposit for the farm land. VSSM decided to help him by giving a soft loan. After that his life was on track.

On the rented land that he got, he built a temporary house  Though the land was not his, he at least got a house to stay for which Vershibhai was happy. From the loan given by VSSM he increased the crop production. His income grew and so did his savings. We wish & pray that Velshibhai attains success & becomes independent in his life. We are thankful to all our wellwishers. It is with their help that we are able to help almost 7000 families with loans. it is our desire to help more such families.

ગોદામમાં કોથળા ઉપાડી ગોઠવવાનું કમ હું કરતો. 1 કોથળો ખબા ઉપર ઉપાડી થપ્પીમાં ગોઠવું તેનો 1 રૂપિયો મળતો. જુવાનીમાં આ બધુ કામ મારાથી થતું. પણ હવે થાક લાગે. ઉંમર કાઈ બહુ મોટી નથી પણ નાનપણથી ધંધે લાગ્યો એટલે શરીર થાક્યું. ગાંધીનગર માં સેક્ટર -13 માં છાપરા આવેલા ત્યાં રહેતો.પણ અમારા છાપરા બે વર્ષ પેહેલા તૂટયાં. બધુ વેર વિખેર થઈ ગયું. કોથળા ઉપાડીને રોજના 200 થી 250 કમાતો. આવામાં પોતાનું ઘર તો ક્યાંથી થાય?

વેરશીભાઈએ ભારે વેદના સાથે પોતાની વેદના વર્ઠાવી. ગાંધીનગર માં રહેતા સંજયભાઈ VSSM દ્વારા થઈ રહેલા સમાજકર્યો માં મદદ કરે તેમને વેરશીભાઈ ને શાકભાજી નો ધંધો કરવા સમજાવ્યા. વેરશીભાઈએ પણ ગાંધીનગર પાસે આવેલા ઉવારસદમાં ભાગવી ખેતી રાખવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. જ્યાં એ શાકભાજી વાવી શકે. પણ ભાગવી જમીન રાખવા તેમની પાસે મૂડી નહી અમે એમને નાનકડી લોન આપી ને વેરશીભાઈ ની જિંદગી પાટે ચડી.

ઘર તૂટ્યું હતું તે ભાગવી જમીન મળતા ત્યાં છાપરું કરીને રહેવા મળ્યું આમ ભલે પારકી પણ છત થઈ તેનો વેરશીભાઈને આનંદ બાકી VSSMમાંથી આપેલી લોનમાંથી એમણે સારો વેપાર વધાર્યો આવક ની સાથે સાથે બચત પણ કરે છે ખૂબ એમને પાક્કું પોતાનું ઘર કરે એ માટે વેરશીભાઈ તેમના કાર્ય મા સફળ થાય તેમ ઈછીએ છીએ સ્વાવલંબન આમરા કાર્યમાં મદદ કરનાર સૌ સ્વજનોના અમે આભરી છીએ અત્યાર સુધી 7000થી વધુ પરીવારોને લોન આપી પગભર કર્યા છે વધુ લોકોને પગભર કરવાની નેમ

 "My parents used to sell "Datun" sticks (teeth cleaning twigs) . Many years ago they settled in Bidaj village. From then on have stayed back at the same place.They are not educated but understand its importance. So they put me in a school and I passed 10th Standard. After that they didn't have the money for me to study further. I started a job. However, I was not very keen on it. I always thought that If I could do my own business, I could progress faster. However, I did not have funds to do business. Yet started trading in textiles. With my income I was able to run my household. I always felt that if I put more money in my business, I will be able to earn more.

If I borrow from a third party, the interest would be very high. During that time I got acquainted with Shri Rajnibhai of VSSM. I know VSSM helps people like me by giving loans. I was hesitant to ask for a loan but Rajnibhai encouraged me to borrow. I took a loan and bought more goods. I would spread my clothes near Dholka, Kalikund and sell them. My profit increased. I repaid my loan within scheduled time. Took another loan. The income was bound to increase. I bought a rickshaw which helped save the transport cost of my goods.

Now I earn monthly Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000. I would have earned something similar in job too but would not have got the independence that I now have. I can go anywhere I want to and do not need to take permission from anyone.. My wife would also take care of my stock & business"

This is the life story of Mukeshbhai staying in Bidaj village of Kheda. The son of parents who sold "datun" sticks is now a businessman. His face reflected the joy of success. His wish was to have his own shop one day. We wish Mukeshbhai more success in the coming years.

'મારા બાપા દાતણ વેચતા. વર્ષો પહેલાં એમણે બીડજમાં આવીને ડેરા નાખેલા. પછી અહીંયા જ રહી પડ્યા. એ પોતે નહોતા ભણ્યા પણ ભણતરનું મહત્વ એમને ખબર એટલે એમણે મને નિશાળમાં બેસાડ્યો. હું 10 પાસ થયો. પછી આગળ ભણાવવાની મા-બાપની તાકાત નહોતી. મે નોકરી શરૃ કરી. પણ નોકરીમાં ઝાઝુ મન ન લાગે. પોતાનો ધંધો હોય તો આગળ જવાય એવો વિચાર આવે પણ પાસે ઝાઝા પૈસા નહીં.. છતાં પણ કપડાંનો વેપાર શરૃ કર્યો. કમાણી થાય. ઘર ચાલે. પણ વધારે પૈસા ધંધામાં નાખુ તો આવક સારી થાય એવું સતત થયા કરે. 

બહારના કોઈ પાસેથી પૈસા લઉં તો વ્યાજ ઘણું થાય. ત્યાં VSSMના રજનીભાઈ સાથે પરિચય થયો. સંસ્થા અમારા માટે કાર્ય કરે એ વાત જાણું પણ પૈસા માંગવામાં જરા મન પાછુ પડતું પણ રજનીભાઈએ હિંમત આપી ને મે લોન લીધી. લોનથી હું વધારે સામાન લાવ્યો. ધોળકા કલીકુંડ પાસે પથારો કરીને ડ્રેસ વેચું. નફો વધ્યો. 

લોન સમયસર ભરપાઈ કરી. એ પછી બીજી લોન લીધી. આવક તો વધવાની જ હતી. મે રીક્ષા લીધી. જેથી સામાન લાવવા લઈ જવાનું ભાડુ બચ્યું.

હાલ મહિને 25,000 થી  30,000 કમાઈ લઉ છું. નોકરીમાં એટલું તો મેળવી લેત. પણ સ્વતંત્રતા ન મળત. મારે ક્યાંય જવું આવવું હોય તો પોતાનો ધંધો હોય તો રોકટોક ન રહે. મારી પત્ની પણ પથરો સાચવે..'

ખેડાના બીડજગામમાં રહેતા મુકેશભાઈની આ પ્રગતિ. એ કહે, 'એક દાતણ વેચરનારનો દિકરો ધંધાદારી બની ગયો.'

એમના મોંઢા પર પ્રગતિનો આનંદ હતો. તેમની ઈચ્છા પોતાની દુકાન કરવાની. મુકેશભાઈ ખુબ પ્રગતિ કરે તેવી શુભેચ્છા...
