| Mittal Patel meets Varshaben Chuvadiya Koli |
Varshaben Chuvadiya Koli , stays in a small shanty with her parents and brothers. After a dispute with her husband, she walked out of his house and returned to her parents’ home. Varshaben now wishes to spend her life in the service of her parents. She does not want to be a burden on her parents therefore, she sells water to make her living. After hiring a handcart for Rs 25 she loads them with water-filled drums and sets out to sell water to make a daily living of Rs 100 -150.
VSSM’s Bhargavbhai learnt about Varsha’s condition. Since the family is very poor, we decided that instead of offering a loan we directly help Varshaben and buy her a handcart.
Varshaben is a self-respecting woman. During the lockdown, VSSM offered ration kits to numerous families and Varshaben was one of them,the lockdown continued for longer than expected. Next time the VSSM team approached the family to allot ration kit Varshben refused to accept saying they have managed for food and it would be better if the kit is given to anyone who needs it more. Such profound understanding. She was delighted to see a handcart at her doorstep. And we were happy to be instrumental in bringing this joy to Varshaben.

વર્ષાબહેન ચુંવાળિયા કોળી...
સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં નાનકડા ઘરમાં માતા-પિતા અને ભાઈઓ સાથે રહે.. લગ્ન થયેલા પણ ત્યાં તકલીફ થઈ તે બધુ છોડી પિયર આવી ગયા. હવે મા-બાપની સેવામાં જીવન કાઢવું છે તેવું એ કહે.
મા-બાપ ઉપર બોજ ન બનવું પડે તે માટે એ પાણી વેચવાનું કામ કરે.
દૈનિક 25 રૃપિયા ભાડેથી એ લારી લાવે ને એના ઉપર પાણીના ડ્રમ ભરી સુરેન્દ્રનગરની બજારમાં વેચે. દિવસના 100 - 150 મળી જાય. પણ ભાડામાં 25 જતા રહેતા.
અમારા કાર્યકર ભાર્ગવભાઈને આ ખ્યાલ આવ્યો. ઘરની સ્થિતિ એવી સારી નહીં એટલે લોન કરતા મદદ કરવી વધારે ઊચીત લાગી ને ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ લારી અમે આપી...
પણ એમની ખુદ્દારી જબરી. ભાગર્વભાઈ કહે, કોરોનાના લીધે લોકડાઉન આવ્યું તે વેળા અમે એક રાશનકીટ આપી. એમણે એ લીધી. પણ પછી લોકડાઉન લાંબુ ચાલ્યું અમે બીજી વાર કીટ આપવા ગયા તો એમણે ના પાડી અને કહ્યું, હાલ પુરતી વ્યવસ્થા થઈ ગઈ છે. બીજા જરૃરિયાતવાળાને આપો..

લારી જોઈને વર્ષાબહેન રાજી... ને એમને જોઈને નિમિત્તનો અમને પણ.....
ફોટોમાં એમની ભાડાની લારી પાણીના ડ્રમ સાથે ને નવી લારી પણ...
