When the floods hit Banaskantha the last monsoon, PunjaBhai, a resident of Totana Village was anxious and worried about the condition of his submerged shop and the possible losses that the flood will cause to him. The process of waiting for the water to go down and facing the losses was very stressful for Punjabhai and in this extremely stressful period, he had a heart attack. 

He was immediately rushed to hospital and by the grace of god, he was taken to hospital on time and he was able to recover well. Once the water seeped out of the village, VSSM team had gone to Totada for give relief kits and on talking to Punjabhai they discovered that both of his shops had been destroyed. On hearing this, VSSM expressed their heartfelt sympathies to him and his family and decide to extend him and his son Amratbhai an interest free loan of Rs20, 000/- each. With that amount that were able to restock their shops again and are back on their foot now. They repay the monthly amount of Rs 2,000/- and are also saving the money for themselves.

પુજાભાઇને મળ્યું નવજીવન અને #Vssm ના કારણે ધંધામા આવ્યું પરિવર્તન....

બનાસકાંઠામા આવેલ ભયંકર પાણીનુ પુર જોઇ ટોટાણામા રહેતા બજાણીયા પુંજાભાઇ ખુબ ગભરાઇ ગયેલા તેમને ગામમાં 2 દુકાન હતી એમને એમ કે હવે અમારી દુકાનો તણાઇ જશે અમારા ઘરોની શું હાલત થશે બાળકોનુ શું થશે આ બધી ચિંતા સતાવવા લાગી અચાનક પાણીનુ પુર વધતાજ બધાને ત્યાથી સ્થળાંતર કરાવાયા પુંજાભાઇને પાણીનુ પુર જોતા જ હાર્ટએટેક આવી ગયુ પુંજાભાઇને તાત્કાલિક પાટણ હોસ્પિટલ ખસેડવામાં આવ્યા.સમયસર લીધેલી સારવારથી તેઓ બચી ગયા. પરંતુ, પુરમાં ઘરનો બધો જ માલસામાન તણાઇ ગયો 2 દુકાનોનો સામાન પણ તણાઇ ગયો ને ખુબ નુકશાન થયું. 

પુરના પાણી ઓસરતા ટોટાણા જવાનુ થયુ રાશનકિટ અને વાસણકિટો બધાં પરિવારોને આપી પુજાભાઇએ પુરની પરિસ્થિતિ કહી તેમની વેદના વ્યકત કરી 2 દુકાનો તણાઇ ગઇ એ સાંભળી ખુબ દુખ થયુ. vssm દ્વારા તેમને વગર વયાજે લોન આપવાનુ નક્કી કર્યું. તેમના દિકરા અમરતને 20,000 અને પુજાભાઇને 20,000 ની લોન આપી ફરીથી દુકાનમા નવો માલસામાન ભરી દિધો હાલ તેમની 2 દુકાનો બહુ સારી ચાલે છે અને દરમહિને 2000 નો હપ્તો ભરે છે અને સારૂ કમાય પણ છે.

Families in Banaskantha

As the attention moves from flood relief to rehabilitation, VSSM had initiated efforts in the direction of helping the flood affected nomadic families revive their livelihoods. On 7th September 2017, we allotted cheques amounting to Rs. 40,25,000 to 116 families in a program organized at Deesa and Shihori. Aarti Foundation and Kutchhi Jain Foundation- Mumbai have provided the financial support to these families.

Hathibhai Raval lost his house and land in the floods. A few days after this disaster struck he was diagnosed with throat cancer, another disaster for the poor family who refused to take any loan from VSSM because of their inability to pay back. VSSM decided to provide him with assistance of Rs. 50,000 to buy a buffalo, the amount he does not require to pay back.

પુરઅસરગ્રસ્તો માંથી જેમના કામ ધંધા પડી ભાંગ્યા છે. તેમને ફેર બેઠા કરવા માટે વગર વ્યાજે લોન આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને VSSM દ્વારા તા.7 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2017ના રોજ ડીસા અને શિહોરી મુકામે 116 પરિવારોને આરતી ફાઉન્ડેશન- મુંબઈ અને કચ્છી જૈન ફાઉન્ડેશન – મુંબઈના આર્થિક સહયોગથી રૃા.40,25,000ની લોનના ચેકનું વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યું. 

હાથીભાઈ રાવળ કે જેમનું પુરમાં સામાન સાથે ઘર ગયું ને જમીન પણ સાવ ધોવાઈ ગઈ. વળી પુર પછી કેન્સર હોવાની ખબર પડી. આવા હાથીભાઈને ભેંસ ખરીદવા રૃા.50,000 અને તે પણ પરત ના લેવાની શરતે કાર્યક્રમમાં જ આપ્યા.
