The inauguration ceremony of a weeklong workshop on training of the Bhavai Artists from Gujarat was  held on 29th May 2015 at VSSM’s office in Ahmedabad. The workshop is being jointly organised by VSSM and Sadvichar Parivar.  The artists will be trained by noted artists Shri. Archan Trivedi. The entire workshop is conducted under the  able guidance  Shri. Madhavbhai Ramanuj, President of VSSM.  The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of all the Trustees of Sadvichar Parivar Trust. Shri. Pravin Laheri shared his insights on this vanishing folk art form while Shri. Jitubhai Panchal emphasised the need to work on rekindling the art of Bhavai and the younger generation learning to perform  Bhavai so as to keep this glorious art form from our past alive in future.

The workshop is being financial supported by Sangeet Natya Academy and Shroff Family Charitable Trust. 

The Bhavai performers from  North Gujarat and Saurashtra are participating in this workshop. Our well wishers and individuals who have always stood with Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch -VSSM remained present for the inaugural ceremony, amongst whom were Kalupur Commercial Cooperative Bank’s Shri. Himmatbhai Shah, Pragneshbhai Desai and Kiritbhai Shah.

vssm અને સદવિચાર પરિવારના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે સંગીત નાટ્ય અકાદમી અને શ્રોફ ફેમિલી ચેરીટેબલ ટ્રસ્ટના આર્થિક સહયોગથી વિચરતા સમુદાયના ભવાઈ કલાકારોની ૭ દિવસીય શિબિરનું આયોજન થયું છે. તા.૨૯ મે ૨૦૧૫ના રોજ સાંજે શિબિરનું ઉદઘાટન થયું જેમાં સદવિચાર પરિવારના તમામ ટ્રસ્ટીગણ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યાં. આ કલાકારોને તાલીમ આપવાનું કામ જાણીતા કલાકાર અર્ચન ત્રિવેદી કરી રહ્યા છે. vssmના પ્રમુખ શ્રી માધવ રામાનુજના માર્ગદર્શન હેઠળ યોજાઈ રહેલી આ શિબિરમાં ઉપસ્થિત કલાકારોને vssm અને સદવિચાર પરિવારના ટ્રસ્ટી શ્રી પ્રવીણભાઈ લહેરીએ પણ ભવાઈ સંદર્ભે કેટલીક ઉપયોગી વાતો કરી તો શ્રી જીતુભાઈ પંચાલ ટ્રસ્ટી શ્રી સદવિચાર પરિવારે પણ ભવાઈ જેવી ઉત્તમ કલાને નવી પેઢી શીખે એ માટે આગામી દિવસોમાં કામ કરવા અંગે વાત કરી.

શિબિરમાં ઉત્તર ગુજરાત અને સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભવાઈ ભજવતા કલાકારો ઉપસ્થિત છે. આ કલાકારોને શુભેચ્છા આપવા અમારા વ્હાલા સ્વજન અને સદાય vssmના કામોની ચિંતા કરતા કાલુપુર બેન્કના શ્રી હિંમતભાઈ શાહ, શ્રી પ્રજ્ઞેશભાઈ દેસાઈ અને કિરીટભાઈ શાહ પણ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા.

VSSM organising a training workshop to bring  Bhavai to its original form….

Mahakali Bhavai Mandal of Surendranagar performign Bhavai

Bhavai- an ancient and traditional folk theatre form of our culture stands on the threshold of extinction. The creator of Bhavai Shri.  Asaita  wrote  365 plays orVeshas,  one for each day of the year.  In the older days these plays played an integral role in imparting education to the communities. However, the Bhavaiyas or the Bhavai Performers are gradually drifting from the original form of Bhavai by incorporating some modern touches to the form.  

Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch - VSSM has been working with the Bhavaiyas for many years now,  striving to  revive this folk theatre to its original glory. As a part of this endeavour we are organising  a 7 days training workshop for the Bhavai performers,  from  29th May until 5th June at the VSSM office in Ahmedabad. We are planning to have a Bhavai show in its original avatar on the last day of the workshop i.e. on the 5th June 2015.  

We invite you all to be part of the opening ceremony on 29th May 2015, 6 PM as well as the Bhavai performance on 5th June 2015.

ભવાઈ આપણી પરંપરાગત લોકકલા આજે નામશેષ થવાના આરે ઉભી છે.. ભવાઈ વેશના રચઈતા અસાઈત દ્વારા ૩૬૫ દિવસના ૩૬૫ વેશ લખાયા અને બધા જ વેશ થકી લોકશિક્ષણનું કામ થયું. પરંતુ, ધીમે ધીમે મૂળ વેશથી ભવાયા વિમુખ થયા અને જુદા જુદા નાટક ભજવતાં થયા. 

vssm ભવાયા સમુદાય પોતાની મૂળ પરંપરાપ્રમાણે ભવાઈ કરે તે દિશામાં પ્રયત્નશીલ છે. તા.૨૯ મે ૨૦૧૫ના રોજ ૨૪ ભવાઈ કલાકારો સાથે ૭ દિવસીય શિબિરનું આયોજન vssm કાર્યાલય, સદવિચાર પરિવાર કેમ્પસ, ઇસરોની સામે, અમદાવાદ -૧૫ મુકામે આયોજિત કર્યું છે. તા.૫ જુન ના રોજ સાંજના ભવાઈનો અસલ જુનો વેશ ભજવાય તેનું આયોજન કરીશું.. તા.૨૯ મી સાંજે ૬ વાગે શિબિરના ઉદઘાટન કાર્યક્રમમાં અને ૫ જુને સાંજે અસલ ભવાઈ જોવા સૌને આમંત્રણ...
