‘I will come to Rajkot tomorrow and pay it.”
“You are already late by 15 days. I am around the area you are at the moment. I’ll come and take it from you today!”
“No, no!! Not today. I will have to come to Rajkot tomorrow, shall give it to you in person then!”
“What difference does it make if it is today to tomorrow? Give it today!”
“Oh Kanubhai, that is not possible! I have to come to Rajkot to make some arrangements!”
“What arrangements?”
“Funds!”
“Why?”
“There is no business. Our condition is pathetic because of this pandemic. We barely manage to earn enough to buy daily food. There is no scope to save under these circumstances!”

Kanubhai too was at a loss of words after Navghanbhai shared his plans to mortgage jewellery with a goldsmith in Rajkot.
“You cannot do that. We have tried to pull you out of all these debt traps and you…”
“What do we do, you trusted us and offered us a loan. I cannot fault before the organisation!”
Kanubhai requested Navghanbhai to refrain from doing anything like that and sent us the recording of the conversation. What more can I say about Navghanbhai’s honesty and truthfulness?

'નવઘણભાઈ લોનનો હપ્તો ક્યારે આપો છો?'
'કાલે રાજકોટ આવીને દઈ જાઈશ..'
'ના ના પંદર દિવસ ચડી ગ્યા છે હું તમારા વિસ્તારમાં જ છું કલાકમાં ત્યાં આવીને લઈ જાવું?'
'ના ના અટાણે નો આવતા, કાલે મારે રાજકોટ આવવું પડશે તો ન્યા જ તમને દઈ દઈશ..'
'પણ કાલે આપવાના છો તો અત્યારે જ આપી દો ને?'
'અરે કનુભાઈ એમ નો થાય'
'કાલે રાજકોટ મારે વ્યવસ્થા કરવા આવવી પડશે..'
'શાની વ્યવસ્થા?'
'પૈસાની'
'કેમ?'
'ધંધા ક્યાં સે, કોરોનાએ બહુ ખરાબ હાલત કરી દીધી સે.. ખાવા જોગું નીહરી જાય સે બાકી કાંઈ ભેગું નથ થાતુ અટાણે...'
'તો કાલે ક્યાંથી પૈસા લાવશો?'
'એ તો દાગીના હોનીને ન્યાં મુકીને પસી...' નવઘણભાઈ આગળ કશું બોલી શક્યા નહીં.
VSSM ના કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ આ સાંભળીને થોડીવાર તો શું બોલવું એ સમજી ન શક્યા. પછી એમણે કહ્યું,
'એવું કાંઈ નહીં કરવાનું. આ બધી ઝંઝટમાંથી તો તમને છોડાવ્યા ત્યાં પાછા તમે...'
નવઘણભાઈએ કહ્યું, 'પણ હું કરીએ તમે અમારા માથે વિસવા કઈરો ને પૈસા દીધા. સંસ્થામાં હું ખોટું પડું ઈ નો હાલે..'
કનુભાઈએ નવઘણભાઈને આવું કશું ન કરવા કહ્યું. પછી એમની સાથે થયેલી વાતચીતનું રોકોર્ડીંગ મોકલાવ્યું..નવઘણભાઈની સચ્ચાઈ અને નિષ્ઠા વિષે તો શું કહું..
કરોડો કમાનાર નાદારી નોંધાવી દેશ છોડી ભાગી જાય છે ત્યારે પંદર - વીસ હજારની લોન લેનાર નવઘણભાઈ સંસ્થામાં પોતાની શાખ ખરાબ ન થાય એ માટે પોતાની જમા પૂંજી એવા દાગીના વેચી દેવા તૈયાર થઈ ગયા...
અમે વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને સ્વતંત્ર વ્યવસાય કરવા માટે વગર વ્યાજે લોન આપવાનું કરીએ. આ લોન ધારકોમાં નવઘણભાઈ જેવા ઘણા છે જેમને જીભાનની કિંમત છે..
અમારા કાર્યકર છાયાબહેન અને કનુભાઈ લોન આપતા પહેલાં લોન ધારકોને વાટકી વ્યવહાર એવો સરસ સમજાવે કે ભૂલથી પણ કોઈ સંસ્થા સાથે દગો તો શક્ય જ નથી પણ એક હપ્તો ન ભરવાનું પણ કરે નહીં.
જો કે કોરોનાએ આવા નિષ્ઠાવાન અને પ્રમાણિક માણસોની કમર તોડી નાખી છે.
મોરબીના ટંકારાના હરબટિયાળીમાં નવઘણભાઈ, ગેલાભાઈ, કરસનભાઈ અને અન્ય પાંચ વ્યક્તિઓ રહે છે. જેમણે ધંધા માટે લોન લીધી છે પણ નિષ્ઠા આ બધાની લોન ભરવાની છે. દાગીના વેચવાની વાત બધાએ કરી અમે ના પાડી.. પણ આ વિસ્તારમાં કામ મળી શકે એમ હોય તો પણ આ પરિવારો કરી શકે. કોઈ કામ આપી શકાય તો અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ - 9099936016 પર સંપર્ક કરવા વિનંતી..
