| Mittal Patel meets Janakbhai in Chattar |
"Didi, we need to meet Janakbhai whenever we visit Chatar village in Tankara, he always remembers you!" Chayaben would always remind me.
The time to visit Chattar arrives. Janakbhai has opened a nice store for mobile repairs and selling mobile accessories. A generous smile appeared on Janakbhai’s face after he saw us.
"How is the business doing?” I inquired.
“There was no way my 10th-grade education was to give me any job. I tried working with my parents, doing the labour they did, but within a short time, I realized I couldn't put in such intense hard labour. I enrolled myself in a mobile repair course. After the completion of the course I had to set up a repair centre, but I did not have funds to make that possible.
I had heard about VSSM providing interest-free loans to many individuals in my region, such funds have enabled them to improve their income and living. I decided to go to Rajkot and meet Kanubhai (VSSM’s team member). He patiently listened to me and advised me to apply for a loan. Subsequently a loan of Rs. 30,000 was approved. The funds helped me set up this shop. The pandemic did impact the business for a few months. However, work is picking up now and I earn Rs. 8,000 to 10,000 every month.”
Not only is Janakbhai punctual with the payment of instalment but he also makes a small contribution to VSSM every month.
“What do you wish to do, what are your dreams?
“Chattar does not have much scope for expansion of the business. If GIDC happens, the business might grow a little and I will improvise my shop. Otherwise, I will have to move to a smaller town or city. Urban areas have a better potential for such businesses!!”
Economic well-being brings answers to a lot of questions in an individual’s life, it gives them the ability to find answers to their challenges. We pray to almighty to grant this ability to all.

નામ એમનું જનક...
મોરબીના ટંકારાના છત્તરગામમાં એ રહે. અમારા કાર્યકર છાયાબહેન હંમેશાં કહે, 'દીદી છત્તર જઈએ ત્યારે જનકભાઈને મળવાનું છે એ તમને નિયમીત યાદ કરે..'
તે વખત આવ્યો ને હું છત્તર ગઈ. હાઈવે પર જનકભાઈએ મોબાઈલ રીપેરીંગ અને એની એસેસરીઝ વેચવાની સરસ દુકાન કરેલી.
અમને જોઈને એ રાજી થયા. દુકાન કેવી ચાલે છે એવું પુછ્યું ને એમણે વિગતે જણાવ્યું.
'દસ ધોરણ ભણ્યો. પણ એમ કાંઈ નોકરી થોડી જડે. મા-બાપ ભેરો મજૂરીએ ગ્યો. પણ થોડા દીમાં હમજાઈ ગયું કે, આપણાથી કાળી મજૂરી નહીં થાય. મે મોબાઈલ રીપેરીંગનો કોર્સ કર્યો. પણ દુકાન નાખવા ફદિયા જોઈએ. જે મારી પાહે નહોતા.
VSSMના કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ થકી આ વિસ્તારમાં ઘણા વ્યક્તિઓને લોન મળેલી ને સૌ પોત પોતાની રીતે સરસ વ્યવસ્યા કરે. તે હુંયે કનુભાઈને રાજકોટ જઈને મળી આવ્યો. એમણે મારી વાત સાંભળી લોન માટે અરજી કરવા કહ્યું. ને મને 30,000ની લોન સંસ્થામાંથી મળી.
એમાંથી મે આ દુકાન નાખી. કોરાનાના લીધે લોકડાઉન થયું ને ધંધો મંદો થયો પણ હવે આઠ - દસ હજાર કમાઈ લઉ છું'
જનકભાઈ લોનનો નિયમીત હપ્તો ભરે અને સાથે નાનક઼ડુ અનુદાન પણ આપે..
મે પુછ્યું આગળ શું કરવું છે? સ્વપ્ન શું છે?
એમણે કહ્યું, 'છત્તરમાં બહુ મોટો ધંધો નો થાય, અહીંયા GIDC બને છે GIDC આવ્યા પછી ધંધો બરાબર ચાલશે તો અહીંયા જ દુકાનને થોડી સરખી કરીશ. નહીં તો નાના શહેરમાં દુકાન કરવાનો વિચાર છે. શહેરમાં ધંધો થોડો હારો થાય ને માટે...'
માણસ આર્થિક રીતે સદ્ધર થાય તો જીંદગીના ઘણા પ્રશ્નોનું સમાધાન પોત મેળે આવી જાય.. બસ સૌ સુખી થાય તેવું ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થીએ...
સાથે.. જનકભાઈને પ્રગતિની શુભેચ્છા પાઠવી અને જ્યાં જરૃર પડે અમે સાથે હોવાનું કહ્યું...
