Shardaben Amrutbhai Bajaniyaa (loan #693) is a resident of Ahmedabad’s Vatva suburb. She stays with her family in Dolivav Settlement along with her son and daughter-in-law. The family earns living working as manual labour. Shardaben works as household help in nearby houses but the income wasn't enough to help her sail through the month. Shardaben learnt about VSSM’s 'Swavlamban' initiative through our team member Madhuben. Surviving with such limited income was becoming taxing for Shardaben hence she applied for a loan of Rs. 30,000. With the amount she has ventured into selling daily need items. Whenever there is a fete around her house she sets up her stall and makes brisk sales. At the same time she continues to work as house-hold help. This was her new venture has helped her supplement her income and make some monthly savings as well.

બજાણીયા શારદાબેન અમૃતભાઈ (મધુબેન) (લોન નં. ૬૯૩)

   અમદાવાદના વટવા વિસ્તારમાં રહેતા શારદાબેન અમૃતભાઈ બજાણિયા દોલીવાવ વસાહતમાં તેમના પુત્ર અને વહુ સાથે રહે છે. પહેલા તેઓ બીજાના ઘરના કામ કરીને તેમનું ઘર ચલાવતા હતા. બીજાના ઘરના કામ કરીને પોતાના ઘરનું પૂરું પડે એટલા પૂરતા રૂપિયા મળતા ન હતા. તેમને ખબર પડી કે VSSM નામની સંસ્થા વગર વ્યાજની લોન આપે છે તો તેમ આપણા કાર્યકર મધુબેનને વાત કરી અને મધુબેન ધ્વારા શારદાબેનને VSSMમાંથી ૩૦,૦૦૦ રૂપિયાની લોન ધંધો કરવા માટે આપવામાં આવી. શારદાબેને કટલરીનો ધંધો ચાલુ કર્યો. શહેરમાં મેળો હોય ત્યારે તે પોતાનું પાથરણું લઈને જાય. મેળાઓમાં તે હવે સારી કમાણી કરી રહ્યા છે. કટલરીના ધંધાની સાથે સાથે તે બીજાના ઘરના કામ પણ કરે છે. તેમનું ઘર હવે વધારે સારી રીતે ચાલે છે અને તે દર મહીને માસિક બચત ખાતા માં ૨૦૦ રૂપિયાની બચત પણ કરે છે. VSSMની વગર વ્યાજની લોનનો હપ્તો પણ નિયમિત ભરે છે. એક તણખલું ય જીવનમાં કેટલું બધું ઉપયોગી થઇ નીવડે છે નઈ? હવે મધુબેનને શારદાબેન જ્યારે પણ મળે ત્યારે તેમની વાતોમાં VSSM અને મિત્તલબેન પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા છલકાયા વગર રહેતી નથી.
