The interest free loan from VSSM helps Sharifbhai restart his work…..

Dafer (Sanghi) Sharifbhai is a resident of Vijapur in Mehsana. Until his camel died three months ago, Sharifbhai earned his living from ferrying goods on his came cart. The death of his old camel came as a big blow to Sharifbhai. The income from this occupation was enough to meet the needs of his family. Since he hadn’t saved enough buying a new camel was difficult proposition for him, so he began working as a labourer to earn his living and keep the kitchen fires burning.The cart he owned was rendered useless unless someone helped him buy camel!!! 

Since VSSM works with these families, our team member Tohid knew Sharifbhai.  A proposal from Sharifbhai to help him buy a camel was referred for consideration by Tohid. VSSM approved an interest free loan of Rs. 30,000 to Sharifbhai. 

Sharifbhai managed the balance funds that were required and bought a camel. Once again its  business as usual  for Sharifbhai. ‘I now understand the importance of saving regularly!!” is one important lesson he has learnt from the entire episode. Sharifbhai has formed a new habit of regular saving from his income.

મહેસાણાના વિજાપુરમાં રહેતાં ડફેર(સંધી) શરીફભાઈ ઊંટ લારીના ફેરા કરીને ધંધો કરે. પણ એમના ઊંટની ઉંમર થતાં ત્રણેક મહિના પહેલાં એ મરી ગયું. બચત કરેલી નહિ કે નવું ઊંટ લાવે. ત્રણ મહિના ઊંટના અભાવે છૂટક મજૂરી કરી પણ ઊંટલારીમાં મળતર સારું હતું. ઘરે લારી તો હતી પણ ઊંટ ખરીદવાનાં પૈસા નહોતા એની વ્યવસ્થા થાય તો પહેલાની જેમ કામ કરી શકાય. 

vssm આ પરીવારો સાથે કામ કરે. કાર્યકર તોહીદ સાથે શરીફભાઈએ લોન માટે વાત કરી અને તોહીદે એમને રૂ.૩૦,૦૦૦ ની વગર વ્યાજની લોન vssmમાંથી અપાવી. ઊંટની બાકીની રકમ શરીફભાઈએ પોતે કાઢી. 

ઊંટ ખરીદાઈ જતા હવે ફરીથી માલસામાનના ફેરા કરવાનું એમણે શરુ કર્યું છે સાથે સાથે અગાઉ ધંધામાંથી ના કરેલી બચતનો બોધપાઠ શીખીને નાની નાની બચત પણ તેઓ કરે છે.
