Dashrathbhai Raval lives in Juna Deesa town of Banaskantha district. He makes living by driving an auto rickshaw. Since the vehicle he drove was quite old it required him to make frequent visits to the garage, fed up with the high maintenance cost he sold off the old rickshaw for Rs. 10,000. The new rickshaw costs more than 1 lakh so managing that huge an amount proved to be a challenge for Dashrathbhai.

Dashrathbhai was starring at quite a few substantial expenses. VSSM has helped Dashrathbhai get a residential plot from government , but he did not have money to commence construction on the same. Investing in livelihood was important and hence he saved money to partially fund rickshaw purchase which left him with no funds to initiate construction on the allotted plot. Dashrathbhai approached a private finance company to seek assistance to buy auto but he still fell short of Rs. 25,000, requiring him to approach VSSM’s Maheshbhai with a request for a loan from VSSM. With the loan provided by VSSM Dashrathbhai has purchased a second-hand auto rickshaw in Rs. 80,000.
Dashrathbhai’s income has improved allowing him to pay the loan instalments as well as save money to commence the construction of his house.
Similarly, Chetanbhai Barot was also struggling to earn decent livelihood. Chetanbhai studied until 8th grade and chose to drop out of school to begin earning and share the burden of providing for the family. However, we all know that earning a daily wage as an unskilled labourer isn’t a very rewarding job! Chetanbhai wanted to take up some other job to improve the family income, he had this secret wish to set up a small kiosk and a hotel next to his house which was very strategically located, just on the street.
Chetanbhai was aware of VSSM’s program of providing interest free loans to nomadic communities hence he approached Maheshbhai, one of our team members. Maheshbhai could sense Chetanbhai's the strong urge to work hard and do better and recommended him for VSSM's support. With the support of Rs. 20,000 extended by VSSM Chetanbhai was able to setup a small kiosk ( as seen in the picture).
It brings us joy to see that such small supports become instrumental in changing the financial lot of individuals like Chetanbhai. We are extremely thankful to our donors for their generous donations to help the extremely marginalised communities become financially independent.
vssmની મદદથી દશરથભાઈને રહેણાંક અર્થે જુનાડીસામાં પ્લોટ મળેલો પણ એના ઉપર બાંધકામ કરવા પાસે પૈસા નહિ. થોડી બચત હતી જે નવી રીક્ષા ખરીદવા માટે રાખેલી એ ઘર બાંધકામમાં નાખી દે તો ધંધો શુ કરવો? નવી રીક્ષા લેવા ફાયનાન્સમાં લોન માટે વાત કરી પણ એમની બચત ઉપરાંત બીજા રૂ.૨૫,૦૦૦ દશરથભાઈએ ભરવા પડે એમ હતું. vssm આ પરિવારો સાથે કામ કરે એટલે એમણે vssmના કાર્યકર મહેશને રૂ.૨૫,૦૦૦ ની લોન આપવા વિનંતી કરી. આપણે એમને વગર વ્યાજે આ રકમ લોન સ્વરૂપમાં આપી. આ રકમ અને પોતાની બચત ડાઉનપેમેન્ટના રૂપમાં ભરીને એમણે જૂનામાં સારી સ્થિતિવાળી રૂ.૮૦,૦૦૦ની રીક્ષા લીધી.
દશરથભાઈ vssm અને ફાયનાન્સન ની લોન ભરે છે અને નિયમિત થતી આવકમાંથી એમણે ઘરનું બાંધકામ પણ શરુ કર્યું છે.
દશરથભાઈની જેમ જ ચેતનભાઈ બારોટ ધો.૮ ભણ્યા પછી પરિવારની આર્થિક સ્થિતિ ખરાબ હોવાના કારણે પરિવારને ટેકો થાય એ માટે છૂટક મજૂરીએ લાગી ગયા. પણ એમાં ઝાઝું આગળ જવાશે નહિ એવું એમને હંમેશા લાગે. પોતાનું ઘર ડીસામાં જ અને વળી પાછું રોડ પર આ ઘરની આગળ જ જો ગલ્લો થાય તો ઘેરબેઠા સારો વકરો થઇ શકે એવી આશા. વળી એક વખત ગલ્લામાંથી પછી દુકાન અથવા નાની હોટલ કરવાનું સ્વપ્ન પણ ખરું.
vssmમાંથી વિચરતા પરિવારોને નાના વ્યવસાય માટે વગર વ્યાજની લોન આપવામાં આવે છે એવી ચેતનભાઈને માહિતી મળી અને એમણે કાર્યકર મહેશનો સંપર્ક કર્યો.
ચેતનભાઈની જીજીવિષા જોઇને રૂ.૨૦,૦૦૦ની લોન માટે મહેશે vssmમાં અરજી કરી. vssmમાંથી મળેલી લોનથી ચેતનભાઈએ ફોટોમાં દેખાય છે એવો ગલ્લો કર્યો છે.
આટલી નાની રકમની લોનથી લોકો પગભર થઇ રહ્યાં છે એનો અમને આનંદ છે. આ કામમાં નિમિત્ત બનનાર દાતાઓના અમે આભારી છીએ જેમના કારણે આ લોકો પગભર થઇ શક્યા છે.
